Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level IV NICU position requiring 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Level IV NICU within a 152-bed level II children's hospital, ranked 2nd highest acuity NICU in the state
• NICU has 70 beds with a typical census around 50
• Private rooms in NICU with overflow into Level II Nursery for feeders/growers
• Attached to an adult hospital with high-risk labor and delivery services
• Patient population includes prematurity down to 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS
• Surgical patients and HIE experience preferred
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour day shifts, 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend, with rare back-to-back weekends
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to MedSurg or PICU for patients 1 year and under or as Helping Hands
• Block scheduling possible but not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience required
• Required skills: respiratory support for vents, g-tubes, NG/OG, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care plan development, and discharge planning to home
• Trach experience highly preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Care for critically ill neonates including high-risk deliveries and premature infants
• Candidates with strong travel experience preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered
• Any scrub color is acceptable
