Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV Neonatal ICU night shift position requiring at least 1 year of NICU experience and current NRP certification.

• Work in the Neonatal ICU (NICU) unit of a hospital setting
• Level IV NICU experience required to be considered
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma state or multistate compact) required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current NRP certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required from an accredited program; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a variety of NICU patients ranging from simple to complex health needs
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document responses to nursing interventions
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary
• Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines, requiring documentation to be completed promptly with no flexibility on start dates
• Travelers may extend a contract one time for a maximum of 26 total weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
