NICU Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
  • Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin
  • Healthcare Setting: 18-bed Level III NICU with private rooms and family-integrated care
  • Contract: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: October 5, 2026
  • Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week, typically three 12-hour shifts
  • Shift: 12-hour PM/NOC variable shifts, generally 3:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; flexibility required based on unit needs
  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation
  • Float Requirement: May float to Pediatrics as needed

NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact-state RN license
  • At least 2 years of Level III NICU nursing experience required
  • Associate degree or certificate in nursing required; bachelor's degree welcome
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Recent EPIC charting experience within the past 12 months
  • Experience caring for extremely low birth weight infants and attending deliveries preferred
  • Previous travel assignment experience preferred
  • Must be prepared to serve as a clinical resource for less-experienced NICU nurses
  • Must meet the assignment's geographic requirement of residing outside a 50-mile radius

NICU RN Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal nursing care to premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborns in a Level III NICU
  • Care for patients with acuity ranging from 1:1 to 3:1, with an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in neonatal condition, including the needs of extremely low birth weight infants
  • Support high-risk deliveries and coordinate care with the neonatal and multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC
  • Promote family-integrated care and provide education and support to parents and caregivers
  • Float to Pediatrics when needed while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and serve as a dependable clinical resource during critical or complex cases
