Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level IV NICU position requiring 2+ years of Level III-IV NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 70-bed Level IV NICU within a 152-bed Level II children's hospital, with a typical census of around 50
• NICU is part of a Pediatric Hospital attached to the adult hospital, featuring high-risk labor and delivery and private patient rooms
• Overflow coverage of the Level II Nursery for feeders/growers
• Patient population includes premature infants down to 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS cases
• Surgical and HIE (Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy) patient experience preferred
• 12-hour night shifts, either 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required, with rare back-to-back weekends
• Floating required to MedSurg or PICU for patients age 1 and under, or as Helping Hands
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR
• Block scheduling possible but not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience required
• Required skills: respiratory support for ventilators, G-tubes, NG/OG tubes, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care plan development, and discharge planning to home
• Trach experience highly preferred but not required
• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred

• Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care across a range of high-acuity neonatal conditions
• Candidates should have a friendly, collaborative attitude suited to a team-based NICU environment
• Any scrub color permitted
• First-time travelers will be considered, though travel experience is strongly preferred
