Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring NRP certification and prior surgical NICU experience.

Details

• Level III/IV NICU setting caring for surgical patients and neonates from 23 weeks gestation and up
• Utilizes cooling therapy, all respiratory modes, PICC lines, bronchoscopy, LISA, VCUG, MRI, swallow studies, and line insertion
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• No on-call requirements
• Every other weekend required
• Floats to peds/PICU/nursery

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience required
• Charting system experience required (any system)
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience with neonatal cardiovascular, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, GI feedings and tube placement, isolation precautions/PPE, IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, IV vasopressors, surfactants, steroids, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to neonates in a Level III/IV NICU setting, including surgical and critically ill patients
• Holiday coverage may be required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
