Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level III float pool role requiring NRP, PALS, and prior NICU Level III/PICU experience.

Details

• NICU-based float pool position within a Level III Neonatal ICU
• Floating required without exception to PICU, Peds, and NBN units, with assignments matched to skill set
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 08:00
• Every other weekend required
• 37.5 hours per week
• Patient ratios vary based on acuity, census, and staffing needs
• Cares for neonates as young as 24-28 weeks gestation
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required, with documented NICU Level III and PICU experience
• Skilled in A-line management, central/implanted line care, UAC/UVC, and IV vasopressor administration
• Experienced in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Proficient in ventilator management including AC, PC, SIMV, CPAP, BIPAP, and PEEP modes
• Skilled in neonatal feeding methods including bottle, breast, and gavage
• Experience with placement and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Knowledgeable in Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome care
• EPIC charting experience required

• Work in a 56-bed Level III NICU at a Regional Perinatal Center caring for over 1,200 premature and ill newborns annually
• PICU offers comprehensive medical and surgical care with full-time pediatric critical care physicians and subspecialists
• Located within a 597-bed academic teaching hospital affiliated with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School
• Part of New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system
• Winter holiday coverage required, working or providing on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Scrub requirement: navy pants with pediatric-print top
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
