Description

American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a Level III unit requiring 2 years of recent high-acuity NICU experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Level III NICU serving as a regional referral center for high-risk infants in a state-of-the-art unit
• 54-bed unit with primarily very low birth weight premature infants requiring ventilatory support
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Day shift, 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
• Required to work 2 variable weekend shifts per month, scheduled as needed
• Must be flexible to pick up additional shifts occasionally based on unit needs
• Floating within the hospital to Mother Baby to care for infants only
• No floating to sister hospitals
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent permanent staff experience in a Level III NICU required
• High-acuity NICU experience required due to unit skillset
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and neonatal medication administration required
• Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, and respiratory distress syndrome care required
• Experience with neonatal patient populations across gestational ages, including under 24-28 weeks and 29-34 weeks

• Provide direct bedside care to critically ill neonates including those requiring ventilatory support
• Attend high-risk deliveries and provide developmental and family-centered care
• Facility is a Magnet-designated academic teaching center with 637 staffed beds
• Charting is done in Epic
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
• RTO limited to 1 week maximum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Prior UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
