Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 1B NICU position requiring current MA licensure and at least 2 years of Level 1B or higher NICU experience.

Details

• Level 1B NICU/Continuing Care Nursery within a teaching hospital
• 4-bed unit with a 3:1 patient ratio
• Cares for late preterm babies (35+ weeks) and infants with health issues requiring specialized care
• Uses cardiopulmonary monitors, LED phototherapy lights, radiant warming units, resuscitation and stabilization centers, IV infusion pumps, and isolettes
• Meditech Expanse EMR experience highly preferred
• 12-hour afternoon/mid shift, 11:00 AM-11:30 PM, on a 36 or 48-hour guarantee schedule
• Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand at time of profile upload; compact license not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of current Level 1B or higher NICU experience required
• Experience caring for ESC (Eat, Sleep, Console) babies exposed to opioids in utero required
• Experience with TTN (Transient Tachypnea) infants required
• Experience with blood sugar stabilization required
• Experience with infants requiring respiratory support, including High Flow Nasal Cannula, required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Current NRP certification required
• Signed supervisory reference from within the past two years required
• Skills checklist for NICU current within 1 year required
• Must have a personal vehicle

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to late preterm and medically complex newborns in a continuing care nursery setting
• Facility-provided scrubs
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Must work two full holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and following weekend
• No more than 5 days of RTO accepted, and all time-off requests must be submitted and verified at the time of profile upload; no RTO requests will be approved after upload
• All scheduling requests must be finalized prior to submission, as block scheduling and post-offer schedule changes will not be considered
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
