Experience: Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine. Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
License: Michigan license verification required for nurses.
Certifications: BLS, ARRT
Must-Have: Skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is preferred.
Description:
Responsible for performing all aspects of patient exam activities in nuclear medicine at a technical level.
Produces high-quality images consistent with established policies and procedures.
Operates and maintains all assigned nuclear scanning imaging equipment.
Performs diagnostic studies, including measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
Obtains patient history and explains standard procedures to address patient concerns.
Fosters a sense of comfort and confidence in patients while ensuring their needs are met.
Properly identifies, prepares, and administers medications/substances as prescribed.
Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety to reduce exposure.
Complies with all regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats.
Ensures an adequate supply of consumables to perform quality testing.
Performs routine maintenance and function checks following established protocols.
May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.
Performs other related duties as required and directed.
