Must-Have:
Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine.
Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Description:
Responsible for performing all aspects of patient exam activities in nuclear medicine.
Produces high-quality images consistent with established policies and procedures.
Specializes in performing diagnostic studies in nuclear medicine imaging.
Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns.
Fosters a sense of comfort and confidence for patients to ensure their needs are met.
Operates and maintains all assigned nuclear scanning imaging equipment to ensure functionality.
Performs diagnostic studies, including measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes.
Obtains diagnostic information that correctly captures the images requested by a physician.
Identifies, prepares, and administers medications/substances as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Completes quality assurance processes and practices radiation safety.
Reduces exposure to patients, staff, and self.
Complies with all regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
Maintains required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
Maintains an adequate supply of all consumables for quality testing.
Performs all routine maintenance and function checks following established protocol for imaging equipment.
May assist other areas of radiology as assigned.
Performs other related duties as required and directed.
