Shift: D/E Rotating - 8x5 - 08,16 Description: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides a full spectrum of nuclear medicine imaging and treatment services to beneficiaries at the client. This role requires technical expertise in anatomy, physiology, and the operation of advanced imaging equipment to ensure high-quality diagnostic results and patient safety. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and administer radioactive drugs and contrast materials under the direction of a radiologist. Perform complex exams including GI Bleeds, Cardiac Stress Tests, Bone Scans, Hida Scans, Datscans, and Lung scans. Operate specialized equipment such as Siemens Symbia Intevo Excel and Spectrum Dynamics D-Spect. Interpret radiology requests for accuracy in CPRS and manage the ordering/editing process. Apply radiation safety protocols to minimize dosage to patients, staff, and self. Maintain electronic patient records in CPRS and ensure images are properly scanned into Philips PACS. Practice sterile techniques and adhere to hospital infection control policies. Required Qualifications: Education: Successful completion of a training program for nuclear medicine technicians or medical radiology technicians. Certification: Must be certified in nuclear medicine technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)(N). Licensure: Not explicitly required by LCAT if certified, but must maintain current registration/certification. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience with an understanding of advanced Nuclear Medicine applications. Life Support: Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred Qualifications: Prior clinical experience within the VA system. Experience with Siemens and Spectrum Dynamics imaging platforms. Credentialing Requirements: VA Credentialing and VetPro registration required. Approval by the Professional Standards Board and Medical Center Director. Evidence of current CMEs and annual PPD/Influenza testing. Work Details: Setting: On-site hospital radiology department. Schedule: Variable shifts (8/12 hours) including weekends; no on-call or overtime expected.
