Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Nuclear Med Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred License: Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) required Certifications: State Licensure required, BLS required Must-Have: Basic computer experience required Description: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. They will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed. The technologist will help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. Flexibility is required as the technologist may work other shifts or locations as needed. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance and participate in quality assurance. They will resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Participation in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure is expected. The technologist will adhere to and maintain the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Clienttion, personnel, and patient safety measures must be observed. Clienttion safety protocols must be maintained while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals used in the department. Daily logs and periodic tests must be completed as required by their license. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization’s mission and values. Responsibilities: The technologist will meet expectations of applicable competencies. They will demonstrate adherence to core values. Consistency with administrative and departmental policies must be maintained. Professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality must be upheld. The technologist will promote staff growth and development by collaborating with management and coworkers. Exceptional physician satisfaction must be promoted by assisting radiologists and referring physicians. All duties must be performed in a manner that protects patient confidentiality. Patient assessment and care methods must be adapted to accommodate each patient’s unique needs. Compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care is required. The technologist will perform examinations and procedures needed to assist in patient throughput. Flexibility in working other shifts or locations may be required. Completed exams must be scanned and stored correctly in PACS. The technologist must follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser. They will troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
