Job Summary: Under the direction of the department supervisor, will oversee the daily flow of patients through the department and coordinate daily exam assignments. perform nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation and other forms of energy. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.Job Responsibilities:-Responsible for all records and charting of information related to individual cases.-Collects patient histories and other related information, coordinating and communicating with the radiologist and all others as needed.-Verifies patient name, DOB, ID number and order.-Follows department protocols and produces quality images for each exam.-Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.-Continuously monitors the patient through the exam.-Has access to medication storage areas pertinent to required job tasks-Assist Radiologist with exam when necessary and with invasive procedures-Effectively uses the EPIC-Assists in ensuring all studies are assigned to a radiologist at end of shift-Assists physicians in performance of Nuclear and PET examinations by preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals under the directions of a radiologist.Required Skills & Experience:- Maintain quality control on all assigned instrumentation. - Manipulates computerized image data to obtain interpretive information and archiving.-Actively strives to improve/maintain MRI protocols with application support and radiologist.-Maintains adequate records of radionuclide receipts, use, storage, and disposal in accordance with state and federal guidelines.-Assists with clinical image selection, data collection, and completion of accreditation submission with the ACR.-Reports equipment malfunctions to proper personnel.-Assists in maintaining list for hot lab access.-Rotates through nuclear cardiology, main nuclear, and PET areas on a routine bases.-May be responsible for specific area of instruction in the School of Radiologic Technology.-Selects and operates Nuclear and PET equipment, selecting proper technical factors on an individual basis.-Assists in equipment calibration and radionuclide assay operation.-Rotates within the department and may rotate shifts and call as required.
