Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 2+ years experience for a short-term acute care hospital setting requiring CNMT or NMTCB certification.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting in the Nuclear Medicine department
  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday
  • May float to other facilities based on need
  • Cerner charting system required
  • Performs procedures including bone scans, whole body and limited studies, myocardial and ventricular imaging, thyroid studies, HIDA scans, renal scans, lung scans, and gastric emptying studies
  • Utilizes SPECT imaging and Siemens Spectrum DSpect equipment
  • Nuclear cardiology stress testing including adenosine, Persantine, and pharmacological stress protocols

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required
  • BLS certification required
  • CNMT or NMTCB certification required
  • ARRT(N) certification preferred
  • Indiana or Compact license required if applicable
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Experience drawing venous blood and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and radioactive material handling, storage, and disposal
  • Two supervisor references required
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include performing diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures such as bone, brain, liver, renal, lung, thyroid, and cardiac imaging studies
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Free parking provided
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted
  • All travelers are required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional RTO requires facility approval
  • Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
  • Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility
