Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 24 months current Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience License: Active permanent or temporary Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification Certifications: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certification in Nuclear Medicine (N) or CNMT, American Heart Association BLS Must-Have: Must have Siemens and Spectrum Imaging experience Must be able to administer intramuscular and intravenous injections and start intravenous lines Must be able to operate Gamma cameras, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners, nuclear medicine computers, and Cardiac Stress equipment Must have basic knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments Must have basic knowledge of EKG to perform cardiac studies Description: Performs quality control measures on nuclear medicine equipment and devices, including troubleshooting and maintenance. Ensures quality management programs for all procedures. Confers with physicians to determine appropriate procedures to ensure effective operations. Documents all laboratory operations, including receipt and disposition of radioactive materials, instrument quality control data, patient procedures, and medical records. Exercises judgment in the performance of scheduled examinations and procedures to comply with established guidelines. Identifies ways to improve work processes and enhance customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to management and implements and monitors results as appropriate. Provides clinical instruction for Radiology students and residents, ensuring all healthcare providers are well informed. Stays abreast of the latest developments in nuclear medicine by attending seminars or workshops and reading professional journals. Maintains licensure in Nuclear Medicine and integrates knowledge into the job as appropriate. Takes initiative to share knowledge with staff members. Maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, physicians, nurses, residents, and patients. Develops effective internal controls promoting adherence to applicable laws and accreditation requirements. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary for proper understanding of regulations affecting Nuclear Medicine.
