Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technician Profession: Nuclear Medicine Technician Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) Certifications: State Certified Nuclear Medicine Technician with venipuncture Must-Have: - Graduation from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or an Associate's Degree in a related field - Certification from either the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine Technology - Advanced certification preferred in one of the following: Computed Tomography, Positron Emission Tomography, or Nuclear Cardiology Description: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist functions as a Scientific Technologist with advanced knowledge in Nuclear Medicine techniques. They are required to enhance the department by providing optimal exams and procedures. The role involves working closely with the Nuclear Medicine Physician. Duties include performing a full spectrum of diagnostic imaging and analyzing biological specimens. Technologists assist with therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients. They will use imaging devices to record the distribution of radiopharmaceuticals within a patient's body. Responsibilities also include ensuring patient safety protocols are followed. Technologists must maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements. Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement activities is expected. A minimum of 2 years of post-program graduate experience is required to qualify for this position.
