Contract | Travel | Days (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) | On-call and weekend availability required | 13-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
Perform a wide variety of routine and advanced nuclear medicine imaging procedures, ensuring completed exams are accurately scanned and stored in PACS.
Observe and maintain radiation safety protocols while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals used in the department.
Troubleshoot basic equipment maintenance issues and report malfunctions to appropriate personnel; participate in quality assurance activities.
Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific needs of each patient.
Complete daily logs and periodic tests as required by licensure; ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and regulatory standards.
Demonstrate flexibility by working additional shifts or at alternate campuses as needed, including on-call and weekend assignments; case load is heavy and technologist must work until all cases are completed each day.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an accepted and approved equivalent program.
Nuclear Medicine Technology certification by ARRT (N) or NMTCB required.
Texas state licensure as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) issued by the Texas Medical Board required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association only).
Basic computer proficiency required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred.
Familiarity with PACS systems, including downtime procedures and escalation protocols.
