Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic studies in nuclear medicine imaging, including measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas to capture physician-requested images.
- Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns to ensure comfort and confidence throughout the exam process.
- Operate and maintain all assigned nuclear scanning imaging equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications and substances within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
- Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards.
- Maintain required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats, and perform routine equipment maintenance checks per established protocol.
Required Qualifications- Registration in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) — required.
- Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience — required.
- Current BLS certification — required.
- Ability to comply with all Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working with Cerner EMR.
- Completed skills checklist within one year of application.
