Nuclear Medicine Technologist
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with FSN, you will perform advanced nuclear medicine imaging procedures that support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning. Your expertise in radiopharmaceutical preparation, imaging technology, and safety protocols will be essential to delivering high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following prescribed dosages, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards, including NRC and state-specific requirements.
- Conduct a variety of nuclear medicine imaging procedures such as planar, SPECT, and PET/CT scans, including cardiac stress tests, bone scans, thyroid evaluations, and oncologic assessments.
- Operate gamma cameras, PET/CT scanners, dose calibrators, and other imaging equipment, ensuring routine quality control tests are performed accurately and documented properly.
- Monitor patients during and post-procedure for adverse reactions, providing immediate care and ensuring adherence to radiation safety precautions.
- Collaborate with referring physicians to coordinate imaging schedules, ensuring optimal timing for accurate diagnostic results.
- Maintain strict compliance with safety standards, including radiation protection and infection control protocols.
- Document all procedures, equipment performance, and patient interactions meticulously to meet regulatory and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in nuclear medicine imaging, ideally in hospital or outpatient settings.
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT (N) or CNMT) is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- State licensure as mandated by local regulations.
- PET certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of radiopharmaceutical handling, imaging procedures, and radiation safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Schedule & Shift:
- Day Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
