Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist requiring AART or NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Certification and SCRQSA Radiographer Certification for a hospital-based imaging role.

Details

• Work in the Nuclear Medicine department of an acute care hospital
• M-F schedule, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• No on-call requirement
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting
• Potential to float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals
• Nuclear Medicine Certification from AART or NMTCB required
• SC Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiographer Certification required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Active SC or compact license required, if applicable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations
• Ability to safely operate Nuclear Medicine and post-processing equipment

Additional Information

• Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures under the supervision of certified radiologists
• Assist radiologists with procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
• Instruct and prepare patients for procedures, assist in obtaining informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions to families
• Ensure accurate orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the computer system
• Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and complete annual mandatory in-services
• Assist other imaging team members and departments to maintain records, reports, and files
• Demonstrate flexibility, accountability, and a team-oriented approach
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break prior to a new assignment
