Job Summary:
A Nuclear Medicine Technologist position is available in Rancho Mirage, California. This role involves performing nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures, ensuring proper patient preparation, and maintaining radiation safety regulations. The technician will operate routine nuclear medicine cameras, document clinical information, and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM shifts, with minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure/certification such as ARRT, NMTCB, or ASCP, California State License, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); 1 year of experience preferred; new graduates considered
- Responsibilities include radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration, operation of all imaging and auxiliary equipment, patient monitoring, and maintaining clinical documentation
- Maintains inventory of supplies related to radiopharmaceuticals and ensures proper disposal activities
- Demonstrates proficiency in starting intravenous (IV) lines and follows proper injection procedures
- Submits nuclear charge tickets at the end of each business day
- Practices good radiation safety and adheres to all protocols and procedures
- Additional skills required: patient care, inventory management, equipment calibration, physiological monitoring, clinical documentation
