Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Education
Nuclear Medicine Technology diploma/certificate from an accredited school – Required
Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent – Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
State Nuclear Medicine License – Required for CA/HI
ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) OR NMTCB certification – Required for CA/OR
Venipuncture/IV certification – Required for CA/HI
HLFS (Hospital Fire & Life Safety) – Required
ARRT or NMTCB certification – Required
Required Clinical Skills
Radioactive isotope preparation, administration, and measurement
Diagnostic, therapeutic, and tracer studies
Radioisotope equipment operation
Radioactive dose calculation and preparation
IV/venipuncture and intravenous injections
Patient screening and preparation
Documentation of radioactive materials and radiation surveys
Ability to obtain and document pertinent patient information
Work Schedule
Weekend call required: Saturday/Sunday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
No floating to other units
Weekend coverage is call only
