Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 5×8s Hours: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM On-Call: Every other weekend/holiday for the entire department, including L&D Important: No additional pay for on-call hours
Manage daily staffing and ensure appropriate unit coverage.
Assign staff based on skills and patient-care needs.
Serve as Charge RN when working clinically.
Lead shift huddles and review the operational plan with staff.
Manage department schedules and employee timecards.
Oversee OB Nursing, PCT, L&D Scrub Tech, and UC schedules.
Develop, update, and implement nursing policies and procedures.
Evaluate staff performance and complete annual performance reviews.
Participate in interviewing and hiring new staff.
Provide coaching, conflict management, and performance goal-setting.
Promote staff professional development.
Support quality improvement, patient satisfaction, and nursing practice initiatives.
Provide ongoing staff education on policies, Joint Commission standards, DPH requirements, equipment, and clinical software.
Coordinate orientation and competency assessment for new staff.
Monitor supplies and equipment with the OB Director.
Participate in hospital committees and quality initiatives.
Provide and assist with direct patient care as needed.
Support operations during weekends and holidays.
Perform RN duties across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Special Care Nursery.
