Shift: Evenings | 3 × 8.5-hour shifts
Hours/week: 24 hours/week

 

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Psychiatric Unit for a travel assignment in Bronx, NY. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in psychiatric nursing along with a solid Med-Surg background. This role is responsible for overseeing daily unit operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and promoting high-quality patient care in an acute behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise daily operations of the psychiatric unit.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with behavioral health, restraint, infection control, and patient safety standards.
  • Support quality improvement and performance improvement programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Mentor and support nursing staff through coaching and education.
  • Monitor patient care outcomes and implement best practices.
  • Assist with regulatory readiness and accreditation compliance.
  • Float to inpatient units as needed.

Requirements:

  • Active RN License.
  • Minimum 1 year of Psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Med-Surg experience required.
  • AHA - BLS, ACLS, and PALS
