MedCadre is seeking a travel nurse RN LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum for a travel nursing job in Newark, New York.

Pay Breakdown:

  • Weekly Gross: $2,800
  • W2:  $43.17/hr.
  • Stipend:  $1,246 Weekly

Requirements:

  • NY State RN license - Required
    Minimum 1 year of acute care OB nursing experience.
  • Experience in antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, LDRP, and Newborn Nursery required.
  • Previous Epic EMR experience required.
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM/ERM) certification preferred.
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Travel Obstetrics Registered Nurse (OB RN) for a 13-week assignment with a leading healthcare facility. This position is open to experienced L&D and OB Registered Nurses with demonstrated competency in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and Newborn Nursery. The OB RN is expected to independently provide comprehensive, patient-centered care throughout the continuum of maternity services, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care. The ideal candidate is adaptable, clinically proficient, and committed to delivering safe, evidence-based care in a fast-paced obstetric environment.


 

Duties

  • Provide independent nursing care to patients during the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn phases.
  • Assess and monitor maternal and fetal well-being using clinical assessments and electronic fetal monitoring (EFM).
  • Assist with labor management, vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and obstetric emergencies.
  • Perform postpartum assessments and provide routine newborn care, including monitoring and parent education.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to maternal, fetal, and neonatal complications.
  • Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, midwives, lactation consultants, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Document all patient care accurately and timely in Epic EMR.
  • Float to other obstetric areas within competency as needed and participate in required on-call and rotating weekend coverage.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, infection prevention protocols, and evidence-based nursing practices.
