Job Summary
This travel assignment offers an experienced Registered Nurse the opportunity to join a dedicated Family Centered Care unit, specifically focusing on Mother/Baby services, at a reputable facility in Canton, Georgia. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers and their newborns, supporting families through the crucial post-delivery period.
Working within a collaborative environment, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing individualized care plans, and educating new parents on infant care, feeding, and maternal recovery. This role requires a commitment to patient safety and a passion for fostering a positive and supportive experience for new families.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to postpartum mothers and their newborns.
Conduct thorough assessments of maternal and neonatal health status, identifying potential complications.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Educate new parents on newborn care, feeding techniques (breastfeeding and bottle-feeding), postpartum recovery, and warning signs.
Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor vital signs according to physician orders and hospital policy.
Assist with newborn procedures and provide support during emergencies.
Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, lactation consultants, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience as a Registered Nurse in a Mother/Baby or Family Centered Care unit.
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Canton, Georgia, for the duration of the assignment.
