Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Acute Medicine)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Acute Medicine Unit in Atlanta, Georgia. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population requiring acute medical attention.
The successful candidate will work 12-hour night shifts, three days per week, contributing to a collaborative healthcare team. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, care planning, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
Perform wound care, IV insertion, and other clinical procedures according to established protocols.
Accurately document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in Medical-Surgical or Acute Medicine.

Shift Details
Shift Type: Nights (NOC)
Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
Days per Week: 3 days
Schedule: Monday - Sunday, with weekend shifts required as part of the 3-day work week.
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Assignment Dates: October 12, 2026 - January 9, 2027
Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
