Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team in Atlanta, Georgia. This assignment offers an opportunity to provide high-level critical care to a diverse patient population within a general medical-surgical ICU setting.

The ideal candidate will be adept at managing complex patient cases, utilizing advanced monitoring techniques, and collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This is a travel assignment; candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, interpret diagnostic data, and assess patient conditions continuously.
  • Administer medications, initiate intravenous therapies, and perform advanced life support interventions as needed.
  • Operate and troubleshoot specialized medical equipment, including ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and infusion pumps.
  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, procedures, and disease processes.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records (EHR) of patient care activities and observations.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergent situations and changes in patient status.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent, direct experience as an RN in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Georgia.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN).
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in critical care nursing practices and patient assessment.
  • Competence in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced cardiac life support.
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities in high-acuity environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new environments and patient care protocols quickly.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, specifically Cerner.
Shift Details
  • Shift Type: AM shifts, typically 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts).
  • Days per Week: 3 days per week.
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks.
  • Start Date: August 24, 2026.
  • End Date: November 21, 2026.
  • Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) of the three (3) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) AND one (1) of the three (3) minor holidays (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).

Licensing Requirements
  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
