Join a dynamic Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team in Atlanta, Georgia, providing critical care to a diverse patient population. This role involves managing complex cases, utilizing advanced monitoring technologies, and collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive medical and surgical interventions. This includes continuous assessment, medication administration, and life support management within a fast-paced environment.
This is a 13-week contract assignment for a highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in critical care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, lab results, and diagnostic tests.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including titrating vasoactive drips and managing ventilators.
Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment, such as ventilators, IV pumps, and cardiac monitors.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop, and implement individualized care plans.
Collaborate with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system (Cerner).
Respond effectively to emergency situations and initiate appropriate interventions.
Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and post-discharge care.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in critical care nursing practices and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
Expertise in ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines, and other critical care devices.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and patient/family interaction.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex patient assignments in a high-stress environment.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing patient conditions and unit needs.
Shift Details
Shift Type: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift.
Hours: Typically 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM.
Days per week: 3 days per week.
Contract Length: 13 weeks.
Start Date: September 9, 2026.
End Date: December 12, 2026.

Holiday Expectations: Required to work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) during the contract period.
