Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Outpatient Infusion Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment at the MVHS-Wynn-Outpatient Infusion Unit located in Utica, New York. This role involves providing specialized care within a fast-paced outpatient setting, focusing on the administration of various infusion therapies.

The successful candidate will care for adult and geriatric patient populations, managing a diverse range of diagnoses including oncology, neurological conditions, anemia, and gastrointestinal disorders. This position requires a strong clinical background in infusion therapy and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, biologics, and blood products, following established protocols.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during infusions and implement appropriate interventions.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, document findings accurately, and communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, medication dispensing systems, and other medical technologies efficiently.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care instructions.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, infection control measures, and regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility by floating to other units as needed to support patient care demands.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in an outpatient infusion setting.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Chemotherapy certification.
