Job Summary

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in a dynamic Outpatient Infusion Unit located at MVHS-Wynn in Utica, New York. This role focuses on providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients requiring various infusion therapies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering a wide range of treatments, including chemotherapy, biologics, and blood products, to patients with diverse diagnoses such as oncology, neurological conditions, anemia, and gastrointestinal disorders. This position requires an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, biologics, and blood products, following established protocols.
• Monitor patients closely for adverse reactions and effectively manage any complications during infusions.
• Provide comprehensive patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medication administration, and potential side effects.
• Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records for all patient interactions and treatments.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to float to other areas as required by unit needs.
• Manage patient care efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in an outpatient infusion setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current Chemotherapy certification.
