This is a 13-week contract opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse in Rochester, New York. The role involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care within a dynamic healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for a diverse population, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards of practice.
This position requires a commitment to patient safety, quality care, and collaborative teamwork. The Registered Nurse will work closely with physicians, other nurses, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and contribute to a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement nursing interventions.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families to ensure coordinated care.
Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, lab results, and other diagnostic data, reporting changes to the appropriate medical staff.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities.
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Experience with specific Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in patient assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Competency in medication administration, IV insertion, and wound care.
Familiarity with common medical equipment and technology.
Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning.
