Job Summary
This is an exciting 13-week contract opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse in Rochester, New York. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, development and implementation of individualized care plans, medication administration, and continuous monitoring of patient conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and health history.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, monitoring for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
- Perform various nursing procedures, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
- Document all patient care activities, observations, and responses to treatment accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Experience with Epic EMR system.
Skills & Competencies
- Clinical Skills: Advanced assessment skills, medication administration, IV insertion and management, wound care, EKG interpretation, phlebotomy, basic life support.
- Equipment Proficiency: Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), vital sign monitors, IV pumps, patient lift equipment.
- Soft Skills: Critical thinking, strong communication (verbal and written), problem-solving, teamwork, empathy, adaptability, time management, attention to detail.
