Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220

- Duration: Approximately 18 weeks
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week

- Shift Options: Days or nights, approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Additional Scheduling: Every other weekend, holidays, and two on-call shifts per four-week period

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- At least 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- At least 1 year of acute hospital experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Current stroke certification through the American Heart Association or RQI
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to provide safe, effective care for patients across the lifespan in a dynamic emergency setting
Emergency Nursing Responsibilities
- Perform triage and identify the urgency and priority of care using established emergency severity standards.
- Complete timely primary and secondary assessments for patients of all ages, identifying changes in condition and life-threatening concerns.
- Deliver direct nursing care, including invasive and non-invasive procedures, emergency treatments, and therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment, reassess clinical status, and escalate changes appropriately.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, and the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide compassionate communication, reassurance, pain and comfort measures, and regular updates to patients and families.
- Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures, treatments, discharge, and follow-up care.
- Recognize and report psychosocial concerns, suspected abuse, domestic violence, and other safety risks in accordance with policy.
- Educate patients and families using teaching strategies that promote understanding and safe care after discharge.
- Delegate appropriately, support team development, maintain infection-prevention practices, and promote a healing environment.
- Document assessments, interventions, patient education, and outcomes accurately and promptly.
