Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Surgery Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (06:30 - 15:00); Day 4x8-Hour (08:30 - 17:00) Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year of operating room circulator experience License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Operating room circulator experience in the intraoperative setting Description: Traveler will work 5 days one week and 4 days the next week. This equals 72 hours in a two-week period. The traveler will have 1 day off every other week. Patient population includes pediatrics to geriatrics. The required skills include administration of blood and blood products, various surgical procedures, and infection control. Specialties include retina surgery, total hip and knee replacements, hand surgery, breast oncology, breast reconstruction, ENT, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, and podiatry. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4 across 5 operating rooms. The average daily census is 18. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient setting. No call requirement, but may need to stay over based on the number of finished rooms. Travelers are expected to work during major holidays if they fall within the assignment period. Applicants must complete compliance documentation in a timely manner to ensure an on-time start. Two supervisory references are preferred at the time of submission. Travelers must be available to work all scheduled shifts and any potential holiday shifts as required.
