Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Surgery Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in circulator experience in the intraoperative setting License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: Experience as an operating room circulator Ability to handle a diverse patient population, including pediatrics and geriatrics Competency in various surgical specialties, including Retina surgery, total hip and knee replacements, hand surgery, breast oncology, breast reconstruction, ENT, Lap Chole, hernia repairs, and podiatry Description: Schedule consists of four 9-hour shifts with varied start times, including 6:00 AM, 6:30 AM, 8:00 AM, and 8:30 AM. The patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics. The position requires an RN operating room circulator. The average daily census is 18 patients, with a patient-to-staff ratio of 1:4 in five operating rooms. The facility uses Epic and Pyxis for unit systems. Scrub colors are provided by the facility. Staff may occasionally be required to stay over based on the number of completed surgical cases. Work during one or two major holidays may be expected, with the possibility of being assigned to two holidays if three major holidays occur during the assignment period. Full compliance with orientation and other requirements is necessary to start on time. References from two supervisory individuals are preferred at the time of submission.
