Job Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with Ambulatory Care / PACU experience to support an outpatient surgical unit. The RN will provide care for patients undergoing same-day procedures, including pre-operative preparation, Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery, and discharge planning.

This role focuses on safe perioperative care, patient monitoring, and post-procedure recovery for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-operative patient assessments and education

  • Prepare patients for surgery including medication administration and documentation review

  • Monitor patients in Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery

  • Assess and manage pain, sedation levels, and vital signs

  • Administer and monitor procedural sedation and reversal agents

  • Provide post-operative care and discharge instructions

  • Conduct follow-up phone calls and medication reconciliation

  • Document patient care using electronic medical records

Clinical Skills
  • Pre-operative and post-operative patient care

  • Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery

  • Procedural sedation monitoring

  • Pain management and patient monitoring

  • Medication administration including opioid analgesics

  • Interpretation of lab values and patient assessments

  • Pre-operative patient education and discharge planning

Surgical Case Exposure
  • Candidates may assist with patients undergoing procedures such as:
  • Orthopedic surgeries

  • ENT procedures (including tonsillectomy)

  • General and laparoscopic surgeries

  • Gynecologic procedures
