What You'll Do:
- Provide comprehensive patient care following wound, ostomy, and continence nursing guidelines and established standards of care.
- Serve as a key liaison, addressing patient care concerns and educating patients and healthcare team members.
- Assess physical, psychological, and social needs; develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform advanced treatments, including wound management, ostomy care, drainage, fistula care, and percutaneous tube management.
- Ensure accurate documentation reflecting care provided and patient responses, in accordance with professional standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and comply with all safety policies, including hazardous waste handling and infection control procedures.
Required Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience
- Recent experience with inpatient acute care, wound, ostomy, and continence care
- Ability to perform complex assessments and treatments
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
- Knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Experience handling biomedical, pharmaceutical, and hazardous waste
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with percutaneous tubes, wound drainage, and fistula care
- Patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration experience
- Basic understanding of hazardous drug safety protocols
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Nursing degree from an accredited program
- Prior outpatient or ambulatory care experience preferred
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work daytime hours, typically 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Willingness to travel if needed
- Certification in wound, ostomy, and continence care is desirable
- Ability to follow all safety and compliance procedures to uphold a safe environment
