The nurse plans and implements patient and family education. They are responsible for assessing the needs of patients and initiating appropriate interventions. Essential Job Functions include: Collecting comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation. Analyzing assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues. Identifying expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation. Developing a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes. Implementing the identified plan of care. Employing strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Systematically enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
