Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse to join the team in an outpatient setting, primarily focused on urgent care. The position involves collaborating with patients and medical staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and delivery of quality healthcare services. This role requires maintaining annual competencies, certifications, and participation in training and educational programs.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities

• Provide clinical services in collaboration with providers and clinic staff, ensuring high-quality patient care.
• Lead clinic staff towards efficient operations, including front desk and patient care functionalities.
• Manage medication inventory and supplies effectively.
• Conduct quality control checks for Point of Care tests.
• Document all care and services provided in a clear and professional manner.
• Oversee the opening and closing procedures of provider clinics.
• Assist providers and staff by anticipating their needs for efficient patient care.
• Communicate effectively with departments to facilitate resource access and coordination.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or another U.S. state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 1 year of emergency care experience (Emergency Room, Urgent Care, or related fields).

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficient understanding of the nursing process and its application in a clinical setting.
• Strong knowledge of customer service and safety/infection control principles.
• Demonstrated skills in patient assessments, anticipatory care, and specimen collection.
• Familiarity with medical equipment and computer systems.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Ability

• Capable of multitasking and working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with a willingness to teach when appropriate.
• Adept at problem-solving and critical thinking to maintain positive working relationships.
• Willingness to seek assistance when faced with new or challenging situations.

Physical Demands

The role involves regular communication, frequent standing and walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Candidates should be prepared to engage in activities that require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed.

Shift Information

The clinic operates 7 days a week with varying hours scheduled across the week.
