First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Behavioral Health for a travel nursing job in Portland, Oregon.

Behavioral Health / Inpatient Psychiatry Registered Nurse – Evening Shift

  • Schedule: Mid/Evening Shift | 5x8-Hour Shifts | Monday – Friday | 15:00 – 23:30 | 40 Hours Guaranteed Per Week
  • Weekend Protocol: Required to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
  • On-Call Protocol: No on-call duties required.
  • Assignment Duration: 8-Week Contract (Start Date: 08/31/2026)
  • Pre-Approved Time Off (RTO): No pre-approved time off allowed.
  • Orientation Hours: First 40 hours orientation paid.
  • Floating Protocol: Traveler may float across local Providence health system facilities (e.g., Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, St. Vincent) based on clinical skill set. (Note: Floating to Seaside includes a +$5.00/hr pay differential and mileage reimbursement).
  • Transportation Requirement [HARDSTOP]: Traveler must have a personal vehicle for this assignment.

     

Submission Hardstops [STRICT & NON-NEGOTIABLE]

  • Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 1+ years of inpatient acute care behavioral health / psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Traveler Experience [HARDSTOP]: Prior travel nursing experience is required.
  • EMR Mandate [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical charting experience in Epic EMR.
  • Physical & Safety Interventions Mandate [HARDSTOP]:
    • Must be comfortable with hands-on patient care, physical hold protocols, and managing assaultive/violent behavior.
    • Must be proficient in seclusion protocols, physical/chemical restraint procedures, and milieu management.
    • Must complete Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) training prior to starting on the unit.
  • Licensure & Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION]:
    • Active Oregon State RN License.
    • Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support / CPR) certification.
