Overview

The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Registered Nurse provides, coordinates, plans, and evaluates patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. This travel nurse role includes direct patient care, procedural support, and care coordination for adult and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures.

• Call Requirement: On-call coverage required, including at least one weekday call shift and one or more weekend call shifts per month

Job Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in telemetry, critical care, cardiac cath lab, ER, or OR
• Experience scrubbing in for procedures
• Experience in cardiac interventional cath procedures required
• ARRT certification required
• OH licensure required prior to submission
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred at hire and required within 6 months of hire
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with established policies and standards
• Provide scrubbing and circulating support for cardiac and vascular procedures
• Respond to STEMI call backs within 30 minutes
• Support diagnostic cardiac cath, interventional cardiac cath, CTO, and high-risk interventions
• Assist with pacemaker implants, Watchman procedures, atrial and ventricular ablations, tilt tests, TEEs, and PE thrombectomies
• Monitor patients through hemodynamic assessment and conscious sedation support
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality cardiovascular care
• Promote patient safety, education, and positive outcomes throughout the procedural experience
