Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4 Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Electrophysiology License: RN License in state of Texas or compact Certifications: Current BLS certification, Current ACLS certification Must-Have: Electrophysiology experience required – most recent, at least 2 years Description: The competent Nurse in a similar clinical setting practices independently. Demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to plan for long-range goals. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies in clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to manage the clinical situation. Meets the expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. Includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice. Uses appropriate protocols to administer medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources. Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred. Newly hired experienced RNs must attend orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member. Initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of designated organizational entry competency validation and specific competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements. One year of experience in a critical care setting preferred, but new graduates will be accepted. Work Schedule: 4 Days - 10 Hours Work Type: Full Time
