Job Title: Cardiology RN

Experience: Minimum of 2 years cardiovascular clinic and/or hospital nursing experience.
License: Current Registered Nurse California license.
Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required.
Must-Have: BSN degree highly preferred.
Description:
Collaborates in a team environment to coordinate patient care in the cardiology clinic.
Responsible for nursing assessment, problem identification, planning, and implementation of the patient's plan of care.
Reports complex clinical data to the appropriate cardiologist and implements care as directed.
Provides pre and post-operative education for cardiology and electrophysiology procedures.
Educates patients about their cardiovascular condition and explains treatment options as directed.
Teaches patients how to prevent worsening cardiovascular conditions and the importance of self-monitoring.
Triages patients' physical symptoms and arrhythmias appropriately.
Consults with cardiologists as needed per protocol.
Covers RN Testing Center and imaging procedures when necessary.
Participates in transition of care management to ensure discharge instructions are understood.
Updates medication and problem lists in the electronic health record.
Reviews daily lab/test results and clinical worklists as assigned.
Assists in developing nursing policies and protocols for patient care.
Maintains personal professional development as required for continuing education.
Ensures patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
