Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Lab Preparation/Recovery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 9 Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - BSN Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources. Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs. Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies the plan of care based on continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. Confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solutions. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Completes and maintains proficiency in caring for and monitoring patients receiving and recovering from moderate sedation. Performs all responsibilities required for assessing, monitoring, and removing arterial and venous sheaths. Remains competent in required point-of-care testing. Prepares patients for procedures with correct labs, IV placement, and grooming as necessary. Assists physicians with a variety of bedside procedures, including understanding of supplies needed. Orders specimens and monitors hemodynamic requirements during procedures. Weekend on-call responsibilities are expected.
