Job Title: Cardiac Cath RN Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 9H Days, 4 x 9's with call Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active state RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Previous cath lab experience. Ability to read tele strips and titrate drips. Knowledge of IV medications. Description: This position requires a skilled Registered Nurse specialized in Cardiac Cath Lab. The unit has 2 labs and 6 pre/post beds. On average, there are 3 catheterizations and 2 angiograms performed daily. Common patient diagnoses include STEMI, stroke, drain placement, line placement, and various heart catheterizations. Candidates must have prior experience with peripheral angiograms and interventional radiology. Knowledge of neuro intervention is preferred. The electronic medical record system used is Epic, and monitoring equipment includes Philips technology. A charge nurse is available to take assignments as necessary. Cath Lab Technicians will support the nursing team. Shift hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with on-call responsibilities 2-3 nights per week, every 3rd weekend, and 2 holidays per year. Floating to other units is rare, and nurses will not take patient assignments in such cases. Hospital scrubs will be provided. Unit-specific orientation usually lasts for one week, consisting of 4 shifts.
