Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2 recent years in Cath Lab, Stepdown/PCU, and travel experience required License: Current RN License, multistate compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications: Current Basic Life Support, ACLS Must-Have: - Stepdown/PCU experience - 2 recent years of experience in Cath Lab Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures is required. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques is essential. Maintains good working relationships with other employees. Exhibits good verbal and written communication skills. Responds effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills are required.
