Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: At least 1 year of Cath Lab experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: EPIC experience Description: This position will mostly be for Prep/Recovery with a requirement for Cath Lab experience. The facility has 457 licensed beds and is classified as a Trauma Level III. It is a teaching hospital and recognized as a Chest Pain Center/STEMI Center as well as a Stroke Center of Excellence. There is a heavy vascular need for the traveler, along with some Cath Lab experience. Patient types include cardiac patients, STEMI, atrial fibrillation ablation, and device placement. The role involves assisting with lower extremity angiograms, occasional upper extremity procedures, and interventional cases. The traveler will also handle complex procedures such as right and left heart catheterizations and intervening in various cases. Required skills include functioning independently in cases, strong IV skills, and the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms. Experience in a blended lab environment (Cath/EP/Vascular) is necessary. An understanding of sterile technique and the ability to respond to codes is essential. Participation in departmental and staff support will be expected. The unit promotes a friendly, adaptive culture welcoming to all staff. Travelers will be scheduled for dedicated vascular call and holiday expectations involve working 75% of the holidays. Scheduling includes a discussion of call requirements during the interview.
