Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Catheterization Laboratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (10:30 AM - 7:00 PM) Experience: 1 year required License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS required, NIH, TNCC preferred Must-Have: Experience with circulating, Level 1, and scrub procedures Description: This position involves working in the catheterization laboratory. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM. One weekend of call per month is required, totalling two days of call. The average daily census is 15-18 patients. First-time travelers are accepted. The role requires weekend call availability. Required certifications include ACLS and BLS. Preferred certifications include NIH and TNCC. The facility accepts pending licenses. All requested time off must be submitted with the application. The facility may low census/cancel shifts up to 40 hours per contract. Special procedures include TAVR, right and left heart catheterization, and Impella insertion. Other procedures encompass ECMO, IABP, TEE, cardioversion, EP ablation, pacemakers, ICD implants, Watchman, Mitraclip, coronary angiography, and ECHO. The unit supports interdisciplinary care, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses include heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and mitral valve prolapse. The unit has five rooms and five beds. The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The daily patient visit count is 15, with staffing according to patient care needs. Travelers must complete OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to starting. Fit testing requires travelers to shave for a mask to seal appropriately. Failure to meet fit testing requirements may result in cancellation. All clinical staff are required to adhere to specified pandemic safety protocols.
