Join our dedicated team as a Cardiac Catheterization Lab Registered Nurse in Carbondale, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of complex cardiac and peripheral vascular interventional procedures.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in patient monitoring, administering moderate sedation, and assisting physicians throughout procedures such as left and right heart catheterizations, peripheral interventions, carotid stenting, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repairs, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), and cardiac device implants.
This position requires a commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence within a fast-paced interventional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer moderate sedation under physician supervision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Monitor patients' physiological status continuously before, during, and after interventional procedures.
Assist physicians with the setup, execution, and breakdown of various cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures.
Prepare and maintain sterile fields and equipment for procedures.
Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in administering and monitoring moderate sedation.
Expertise in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation.
Strong understanding of cardiac and peripheral vascular anatomy and physiology.
Familiarity with interventional cardiology and radiology procedures including: Left heart catheterization, Right heart catheterization, Peripheral interventions, Carotid stenting, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repair, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Cardiac device implants.
Ability to manage critical situations and respond effectively to emergencies.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.

Call Requirements: One weekday per week and one weekend every four (4) weeks.
